Image-text mixed layout & design is the most important step between translation and printing, which determines the overall quality of a publication. For example, China’s Economic Annual Assesment that we translated and edited for the Commercial Counsellor's office of the Austrian Embassy is an example showcasing the complexity of such process. The publication process lasted a whole year. Every month, embassy staff would send the original text to TiKiLi for translation, we would then appoint a PM to manage it within the database. By the end of the year, TiKiLi completed the Image-text mixed DTP based on the sample provided. Due to its bilingual format, in order to achieve a more refined layout and to attract readers, we made some appropriate compilation and modification of the target text. It required the translators and designers to work closely together to ensure the journal was perfectly presented to readers.
